The message has been be available as a download from www.royal.gov.uk since 3pm on Christmas Day.

The broadcast, recorded at Southwark Cathedral, focused on the relationship between generations and how faiths can help increase respect for senior citizens.

Officials hope to boost the popularity of the speech, which has waned from a high of 28m viewers in the 1980s to just 6.2m last year.
