The Specialist Schools Trust is creating a national database that will let teachers share the ICT and e-learning knowledge.

The trust hopes that by enabling teachers to learn from the leading schools in IT education and letting them swap experiences, the National ICT Register will improve standards in these areas across the UK.

"Using this database anyone needing advice can search for a school that has already dealt successfully with similar issues," said Ruth Kelly, Secretary of State for Education and Skills, in her keynote speech at the BETT educational technology show in London on Wednesday.

"Raising an enquiry on the Web site will immediately put them in touch with someone who has valuable experience to share. [This is] to ensure teachers learn from each other."

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
