Dot-com rebranding makes a Tiny comeback

Tiny Computers has rebranded itself Tiny.com, which makes it one of the first companies to change its name to include the Web suffix since the boom years.
During the late 1990s, it seemed a company could quadruple its share price overnight just by adding ".com" to the end of its name. However, five years on, the Internet is littered with the remains of dot-com failures, and the practice is less common.
Tiny Computers, sister company of Time Group, will launch its new Web site on 20 February in an attempt to build up its direct sales channel. In a statement on Friday, the company said: "More and more people are choosing to purchase goods online. Tiny.com aims to tap into this trend and encourage its customers to order their PCs systems via the Web."
Tiny.com's general manager Brian Boys said that with no retail store overheads, the company is in "an excellent position to satisfy its customers" and promises to "deliver the lowest PC prices in the UK".
