Phone hacker jailed in UK's biggest phone scam

A man was sentenced to 30 months in prison on Tuesday for the UK's largest-ever communications fraud, a scam in which he modified mobile phone SIM cards to allow users to make unlimited calls. Radomir Lukic, 41, was convicted of defrauding British Telecom's Cellnet of more than £3m, and also sold pirated computer games and decoders for free cable TV access, Leicester Crown Court was told.
Lukic ran a legitimate firm called Radcom, but sold modified phones on the black market for up to £250 and offered software for modifying handsets over the Internet for £2,000-£3,000, according to prosecutors.
