A Brazilian Web scam may have wangled credit card details from 10,000 Internet users, reports Ananova Friday.

The fraudulent Web site sent out 10,000 emails asking recipients to fill in and return a fake online registration form, in order to gain access to their personal details.

Brazilian portal UOL.com received complaints from its users that they had been tricked by a scam involving this fake Web site. Sao Paolo's state police Internet crimes division is now investigating the fraud which is thought to have taken place last September.

Information about the fake site was sent to two US-based service providers and to another in the capital Brazilia.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
