Police investigate child porn computer game

Police in New Zealand are searching for the distributors of a child's computer game sold with links to child porn sites.
According to reports in The New Zealand Herald, the pirated CD-ROM game was available in the run-up to Christmas at markets, car boot sales and via magazine adverts. Direct links to Web sites containing thousands of images of child pornography were found on the game.
According to reports police have pinpointed the city where the game was made but are not releasing details.
The dangers of paedophile activity on the Internet has again become a huge issue in recent months with access to paedophile content just three clicks away in the chatrooms widely available on Instant Messaging services. ZDNet News has raised concerns about the unmonitored content on Yahoo!'s so-called "romance" and "teen" chatrooms and is actively campaigning for a more responsible approach to the problem.
A three-day conference on the safety of children on the Internet will be held in Singapore from 22 February. It will be the first international convention on the subject.
