News Burst: AOL France limits unmetered service

AOL France has restricted its unmetered users to just 30 minutes online at peak rate times to protect its network which is struggling to cope with demand.

French subscribers to the 99 franc (around £10) package offering unlimited Internet access are now having their surf time capped during peak hours. When registered users log on, a pop-up screen warns them of the congestion, and an alarm bell sounds ten minutes before they are disconnected.

The network struggles come a week after AOL rolled out its £14.99 unmetered service across the UK.
