News Burst: MPs' faith in e-government plummets

MPs' faith in the government's ability to achieve its Internet goals has plummeted in the last six months, according to a new survey.
The survey, commissioned for the World Internet Forum in November, found only 61 percent of 101 MPs questioned to be confident that the government will meet the deadline to have all of its services online by 2005.
The survey conducted by independent research group Mori found a 13 percent drop in MPs' confidence in online government. The news follows the launch of the prime minister's UK online initiative last Monday, which earmarked £1bn for Labour's e-government campaign.
