News Burst: Government figures on 'Wired Schools' branded "suspect"

Government figures on the number of schools connected to the Internet have been branded "suspect" by educationalists.

Others claim the government's policy on wiring schools may actually be widening the digital divide by unfairly distributing money allocated to technology in education.

The criticism responds to figures released by the Department for Education and Employment last week claiming that 86 percent of primary schools and 98 percent of secondary schools are now online.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
