A source close to Orange claims the sackings at mobile phone operator Orange were over the distribution of images of 'severed body parts' rather than pornography, as was originally reported.

Although Orange will not confirm the details a spokeswoman said that, under the company's terms and conditions, the distribution of messages or attachments that are "offensive, harassing, obscene, racist, sexist, threatening or libellous" is strictly prohibited. She added that the material distributed was more "offensive" but offered no more detail.

Staff were dismissed from both Darlington and Peterlee call centres last week.

The company is currently carrying out a full audit of its internal Lotus Notes email system across the UK, to find out if there are further offenders.

What do you think? Tell the Mailroom. And read what others have said.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
