Internet Ireland to launch TV-based Internet

Irish ISP Internet Ireland announced plans for a TV-based online service Monday, bringing free Net access, email and 40 Irish newspaper titles into the living room.

The company said it will give away £2.3m worth of set-top boxes for the Unison.ie brand. The move follows Internet Ireland's purchase in January by Independent News & Media and its associate company Princes Holdings, a joint venture with Liberty Media of the US.
