The company claims that the new tariff will offer consumers savings of up to £76 a year over the average British Gas Standard Credit bill of £350.

Amerada said that the savings are possible because all communication with customers, such as billing and payment set-up, will be done over the Internet, cutting down on paperwork and staffing costs.

The tariff will allow customers to record their meter readings online to calculate what savings can be made over British Gas. The site's TrackGas system will allow users to track the processing of their application, expected to take around a month.

As an added incentive customers will receive 150 Air Miles for signing up and one for every £6 spent.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
