America will get its first load of Rio players today, following a court decision last month that quashed the Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA) attempt to stop the Diamond Multimedia's controversial MP3 player reaching consumers.

In an interview last week at Comdex in Las Vegas, Ken Wirt Diamond's vice president of corporate marketing said he doesn't expect any serious problems from the RIAA again, but admitted "we're not out of the woods yet".

Diamond expects to ship the Rio in the UK and the rest of Europe next month.
