Computacenter chief executive Mike Norris said in a statement: "Our decision to invest in this new company reflects our belief in the e-commerce opportunity. Biomni will enable us to extend the commercial reach of our joint developments over the last nine years and is our response to growing customer demand for a system that offers extended e-commerce capability." Financial terms were not disclosed.

Computacenter, which sells IT hardware, software and services, has been recently hit by speculation that the year-2000 bug will lead to a significant slowdown in corporate IT expenditures, which could affect the group's bottom line.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
