ColdFusion for Linux launches

Web-hungry Linux-lovers will soon be able to use the latest edition of popular Web-development tool ColdFusion to create Web enterprises of all shapes and sizes.

Allaire, which manufactures ColdFusion, revealed at its annual US conference Monday that it will make ColdFusion 4.5 available for the Linux open source operating system in response to overwhelming popular demand.

The Linux edition of ColdFusion 4.5 will come with all the trimmings, including full integration of Enterprise Java Beans, extended support for XML, the ColdFusion Studio IDE and the ColdFusion Server deployment platform.

The addition of ColdFusion for Linux adds to the existing Windows NT, Solaris and HP-UX versions of the Web development application.

Linux-addicted Web developers will even be able to get hold of a downloadable evaluation version of the full package from the Allaire Web site from next month. The enterprise edition of ColdFusion will ship for £2,101 and the professional edition will cost £777.
