ZDNet, privacy experts set crypto conference

The conference, Scrambling for Safety 3.5, has been called in response to two official DTI consultations this year and the Home Office's recent consultation on revising the Interception of Communications Act to cover the Internet.

Speakers include the new e-minister but for the full agenda (subject to change) go to www.fipr.org/sfs35.html.

When?

Admission is free for the event, which starts at 9.15am and goes on until 1.30pm.

Where?

Old Theatre, Main Building, London School of Economics, Houghton St., London WC2

ZDNet, The Foundation for Information Policy Research, Privacy International and the LSE Computer Security Research Centre are jointly sponsoring the event.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
