News Burst: Internet growth may have peaked

Surfers are visiting fewer Web sites and spending more time with the ones they know at the expense of smaller sites, according to research by US analyst Media Metrix. The findings have not only sparked fears that the boom in Internet opportunities may be over, but also that Internet stocks may begin their long awaited descent.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
