Animated chat, developed by Swedish Web site DoBeDo, is clearly a major breakthrough in the art of Internet conversation.

From September DoBeDo will offer users a novel chat service that allows them to create their own animated cartoon characters to represent them while chatting. This not only promises more bizarre Internet conversations then ever before, but also means that chat users will be able to reach new levels of emotional expression (well that's what they told us...)

The founders of DeBeDo, Richard Kylberg and Magnus Leijonberg, say the inspiration for this new idea came for characters on TV cartoon shows such as South Park and The Simpsons.

Use it and tell us what you think.
