Dell confirmed its emergence as a fully-fledged blue chip by being named as the number one supplier to UK central government yesterday. Dell UK corporate managing director Mike Newton said that "nearly one in five PCs installed [in government] has a Dell badge on it".

The accolade came from Kable, an IT researcher specialising in the public sector, which added that the government market has declined 17 per cent in two years thanks to budget trimming.

Kable can be contacted by telephone on 0171-608 0901.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
