Infoseek searches UK Web sites

The UK presence is due to a deal Infoseek inked with London Evening Standard and Daily Mail publisher Associated Newspapers, under the terms of which it will host site reviews and listings under the UK Plus banner. The free service will be touted in the publishing group's newspapers.

Topics covered include UK newspapers, arts, sport and weather.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
