Sonyhas announced its first desktop videoconferencing system, unveiled at the TMA conference in Brighton. The Trinicom 500 system costs just £1,500 and offers videoconferencing using standard PC technology and ISDN connectivity. The Trinicom 500 also offers high speed Internet access and the company claims five times normal ISDN access speeds.

The system can also be used as a PC Phone and users can place and receive regular phone calls using the devices. Based around a single PCI card, the Trinicom 500 also comes with a 1/4 inch video camera and software that allows users to improve video quality. Frame grabber software allows users to compile an image-based phonebook.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
