A second family of Vaio notebooks, the TZ series, comprises minimalist, lightweight PCs. Based on the previous Vaio TX series, the TZ family allows users to play DVDs and audio CDs without booting into Windows. The models contain 32GB SSD flash drives.

The casing and keyboard design of the TZ family were inspired by submerged stones in a Japanese water garden, Sony claims.

Prices range from £1,749 to £2,099.
