EMC continues to record strong growth and exceed profit expectations in Europe.

The storage company, which includes the Documentum content management arm, RSA Security and VMware, the virtual software company, reported strong growth in all parts of its business.

Its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) arm looks particularly healthy, and with an increase in revenue of 22 percent, it was the company's top performing region. Global company revenue rose by 19 percent to a total of $3.2bn.

VMware had another spectacular quarter showing its 31st consecutive record quarter as it grew total revenues 101 percent year-on-year. And information security revenues for the fourth quarter, the first full three months since RSA was bought by EMC, grew 26 percent to $114m.
