AMD and Intel moved a little further along in their antitrust battle across two continents. During a case management conference on Thursday in a US District Court, AMD, which has sued its archrival under allegations of antitrust behaviour, asked for a trial date in the first quarter of 2008, while Intel is seeking a trial date in September, 2008.

And in Japan, the Tokyo District Court will hold a hearing Friday to discuss the documents that the Japan Fair Trade Commission has been asked to submit to the court. The documents were requested by AMD as part of its antitrust lawsuit against Intel in that country. The court will determine which portions of the investigation documents will be available for public disclosure during the court case.
