On Tuesday, Linux Networx introduced storage bundles as add-ons for its its LS series of supercomputing systems and its Advanced Technology Clusters. The company, which specialises in supercomputers built from Linux clusters, said the packages of storage hardware, management software and file systems will improve performance by being integrated into the set-up.

The storage packages are intended to be tailored for three classes of supercomputing: ultimate (such as the data crunching done in national laboratories), premium (juggling many applications), and value (simple management for basic supercomputing). These are available now, Linux Networx said.
