Sun Microsystems has completed its acquisition of storage networking assets from Procom, the company said on Monday. Sun announced the deal in May to buy Procom's NetForce operating system for network-attached storage devices for $50m (£27.8m).

Sun already used the software in its StorEdge 5000 line of storage systems. Less than a month after announcing the Procom deal, Sun made a much more ambitious move in the same market, saying it planned to acquire Storage Technology for $4.1bn (£32.3bn) in cash.
