Wireless LAN security

Wireless LAN (WLAN) technology promises greater mobility, convenience, and even improved productivity; but what it can't promise right now is ironclad security.
With current WLAN standards not quite up to snuff, a number of third-party WLAN products can improve network management and help fill the security gaps.
Last February, researchers raised concerns when they discovered vulnerabilities in the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) 40-bit security algorithm. Those concerns haven't gone away. A recent survey by Information Security Magazine cites that over 70 percent of readers are very concerned about the security of corporate WLANs. Industry analysts are no less concerned. They continue to recommend that you set up additional safeguards for your WLAN.
