Struggling wireless communication standard WAP received a shot in the arm Tuesday, as Virgin Mobile launches an improved WAP service, and adds three new mobile phones to its range.

The Virgin Mobile Recommends service links users to twelve content sites, including Lastminute.com, Trafficmaster and WAParesult. It also offers an online FAQ.

Three new hands-free WAP-enabled phones will also be available from the virginmobile.com site -- the Siemens M35I (£119.99), Motorola Timeport P7389 (£179.99) and Siemens S35I (£199.99).
