Psion (quote: PON) attempted to scotch talk on Monday that it was preparing to flotation its Symbian joint venture early next year, saying it had taken no decision on whether to list the operating system developer.

"We've always said a flotation was a strong option for Symbian, probably the most likely, but it depends on market conditions," a spokesman said.

He said no decision had been taken, and while financial advisors would inevitably be preparing valuations of Symbian to help Psion decide whether to float it, that did not mean a flotation was imminent.
