News Burst: Microsoft teams up on UK auction network

A group of companies including Microsoft, Excite@Home, Virgin and News International have linked up with FairMarket to launch an online auction network in the UK. Those companies will list the network's auctions on their portal sites.

Consumers will be able to search merchandise posted at any of the sites, as well as look at merchandise from suppliers including Dell Computer.
