A Year Ago: 'Severe risk' of Y2K disruption

According to the government's bug busting division Action 2000, 40 percent of fire brigades, 51 percent of police forces and all NHS organisations are still "at some risk of material disruption" as a result of the bug.

With at least one fire brigade, four police forces and nine percent of NHS organisations at "severe risk" of disruption Don Cruickshank, chairman of Action 2000 admitted today that he is worried that not enough work had yet been done to combat the bug.
