Dell launches consumer notebook line

Dell, Wednesday announced a notebook PC line aimed at consumers. The new line, Dell's Inspiron 5000, offers large screen sizes -- 14 inches or 15 inches -- at a price starting at $1,899 (£1,177).

The notebook, which is 1.5-inches thick and weighs 6.8 pounds, will offer Intel mobile Pentium III processors.
