Compact computer credit card con caught

An innovative Palm Pilot user who recently put her PDA to an unusual new use siphoning off credit-card data and building up an impressive database of numbers has been apprehended by authorities.
Tania Ventura, a 26-year-old cashier at Bloomingdale's department store, allegedly attached a makeshift credit card scanner to her Palm in order to capture the card details of hundreds of her customers.
Ventura was in fact only caught when one observant customer realised that his credit card had been swiped twice. She has been charged with criminal possession of forgery devices, unlawful duplication of computer data, criminal possession of computer material and criminal possession of stolen property and could face up to seven years in prison if found guilty.
