Nuggets: New division and graphics card from Guillemot

Wisely deciding not to alienate all of those who've grown up with the Hercules graphics cards, Guillemot has completed its acquisition of Hercules Computer Technologies with the formation of a new division, er.. called Hercules, to act as an umbrella group for all future graphic card releases.
The first card to come out of the new group will be the 3D Prophet DDR-DVI, based around the super-powerful GeForce 256 DDR chipset.
The card comes equipped with both TV and DVI outputs. DVI, or Digital Visual Interface, is the latest standard for digital display and is supported by most major monitor manufacturers. Guillemot claims this means the new card will guarantee high resolution display on digital monitors up to 1600 x 1200 in 16m colours, offering true 32-bit colour gaming.
The card acts as an accelerator for DVD-Video playback and has TV/Video outputs, letting you view games and DVDs on a PC or TV.
DDR in the Prophet's name stands for Double Data rate RAM. The card's support for this memory type means that its memory offers a bandwidth of 4.577GB/second.
It'll be out at the end of this month for around £280.
