A Cable & Wireless customer has complained that his cable television account was somehow remotely accessed by a "computer and sex fiend" after he was billed for repeated viewing Godzilla, Lost in Space and several pornography tiles.

Ken Hutchinson from Cheshire was astonished to find a variety of late-night entertainment on his unusually large bill. He was understandably upset and believes some malevolent force was responsible. He told the Guardian: "According to this I hardly slept a wink the entire month. On 13 July, I apparently managed three adult films in one night and have now watched Godzilla three times. I think some computer and sex fiend has managed to hack into my computer and get cheap thrills for free."

Fortunately, because Hutchinson was able to prove that he was in fact playing golf on a number of the evenings in question, Cable & Wireless has offered to cancel the amount due.

Take me to the Hackers news special .

Put simply, what is the compelling reason to pay ~$200 extra for an Eee with Windows XP? A Windows Eee won't come with any useful applications and you'll have to buy anti-virus software to boot. The truth about low cost computing is that nobody really cares whether the machine is running Windows or Linux as long as its cheap, its easy to use and it works.
