News Burst: Dreamcast gets European launch

Sega launched its Dreamcast console in Europe Sunday but confirmed the machine would not be available until October 14.

Opting to snub the ECTS show, Sega's president, Shoichiro Irimajiri launched the Dreamcast at London's Commonwealth Institute where he explained that networking and technical difficulties had conspired to delay the European launch.

The Dreamcast has already sold 1 million units in Japan.
