Every day ZDNet UK News will bring you two Nuggets -- one just before lunch and the other just before you leave the office. So if you want the latest news on the weird and wonderful gadgets that bless our beloved industry, bookmark ZDNet UK News -- and check out our Nuggets, twice a day.

At the end of the month we will provide a roundup of our favourite gadgets which you could win in our monthly Nuggets competition.

Mini-disc waif is decent to commuters

Panasonic reckons its sexy looking new personal mini-disc player will be the world's smallest - that's 3-mini discs thick -- and the lightest. The SJ-MJ70 comes with an LCD remote control complete with back-light display and detachable plug. It has a 40 second anti-shock memory and gives up to six hours playback on its NiCd rechargeable battery (supplied).

As well as being a handsome little critter the MD is polite too - the Train function prevents the annoying backwash of sound so beloved of commuters everywhere. Other features include S-XBS (Super Extra Bass System), resume and random play, repeat, skip search and the ability to connect to your home hi-fi. The SJ-MJ70 will be available in May for around £199.

Next Nugget: Iomega's Clik! drive for digital cameras
