Intel demos 1.002 GHz PIII

The processor was just a technical demo, and Intel did not describe what sort of cooling system was needed to attain that speed. Also during the announcement, Intel unveiled a mobile Pentium III processor built on its next-generation 0.18-micron process that ran at 433Mhz. That processor may be in computers by the end of this year.
