A stinger for laptop gamers
If you're a hard-travelling, hardcore gamer this could be the answer to your prayers. Gravis has released the Stinger which it reckons is the first game pad designed specially for laptops (if anyone one knows different please mail us). What is definitely a first is that it plugs straight into the serial port, removing the need for add in-cards.
The pocket sized pad measures 5in x 4in x 1in and is 100 percent digital. It has 10 programmable buttons which can be tuned to work as a game pad, a joystick or even a mouse. A lot more comfortable for long periods of game play than a built-in mouse, the Stinger is available now for £29.00.
More translucent stuff for the iMac
Yet another colour co-ordinated accessory for the irritatingly hip iMac is TEAC's USB floppy disk drive. The FDD plugs directly into the iMac's USB port, measures 104 x 160 x 21mm and weighs 320 grams.
It's housed in translucent blue plastic for now, but if you are planning to take Steve Jobs' advice and collect the whole range of new iMacs, more colours will be along soon to satisfy your sad cravings.
