Aztech will release one of the first modems to use the Universal Serial Bus (USB) peripheral interface. Scheduled for the April-June quarter, the V.90 56K device will be hot-pluggable and will take its power from the bus, obviating the need for an on-board power supply.

Pricing will be sub-£100.
