The card-thin 2-in x 2-in disks are aimed at highly mobile devices such as handheld PCs and digital cameras, where the competition is usually based on expensive Flash memory technology. The main attraction of Clik! is that it is highly portable, has a large storage capacity of 40Mb per disk and is very cheap - disks will cost $10 each.

Iomega also claims good performance at 1Mb/sec as a sustained data transfer rate and a gentle approach to batteries with a 600ma operating requirement. The futuristic looking podium-shaped drives that attach to host PCs via ATAPI, PC Card or infra-red cost $199. Disks can withstand shocks of up to 100G and they can be carried in a protective case.

Iomega expects widespread international availability of Clik! disks and drives by mid-1998.
