DigitalRadar (£30 + VAT list) for Windows 95 and Macintosh records only movements in front of the camera and can be set to emit an alarm or play a warning message when activated. Video files are saved as Video for Windows or QuickTime movies.

Separately, Connectix said it is working on a USB version of its huge-selling QuickCam camera.
