Apple bolsters PowerBook line

The 1400 series is improved by a 166MHz PowerPC 603e option at the high-end and a dual-scan 133MHz PowerPC 603e model at the entry-level. Bigger hard drives are also available with capacities now ranging from 1.3Gb to 2Gb. Eight-speed CD-ROM drives and 128Kb L2 caches are now standard. 16Mb RAM, two PC Card slots and 16-bit sound is standard.

Prices span £1,849 to £2,399.
