Sunrise spotlights NEC LCD

UK distributor Sunrise Electronics is targeting NEC's 13-inch colour LCD at CAD and workstation markets, saying its size and 1280 x 1024 resolution will be a boon to design houses.

The catchily-named NL 128102AC20-07 is an active-matrix TFT with an actual display area of 257.3 x 205.8mm (330mm diagonal). Sunrise claims the display also takes advantage of new technology to provide a wider viewing angle than was possible on previous TFTs.

13-inch displays are also soon expected to take their place in notebook PCs, once makers have designed slightly larger chassis to accommodate the screens.
