Sharp has released what it claims is the smallest flatbed scanner ever. Called the JX-250, the 24-bit, 400dpi colour device is designed for crowded environments, measures 286mm x 403mm x 79mm and weighs 4.9Kg. The unit costs £449 + VAT for the PC version with SCSI-2 interface card, and £549 for the Macintosh version. Adobe Photoshop LE is bundled and a 50-sheet document feeder is optional. Sharp can be contacted by telephone on 0800-262958.
