Quoting data from the independent Tolly Group laboratories, IBM says other brands typically use four times the memory. "IBM leads the industry," said Kevin Tolly, president of the company. "The greatly enhanced memory utilisation rate and IBM's higher performance are real boosters for Token Ring customers."

"We've listened to our customers," said Paul Roberts, brand manager of IBM PC Company UK, "[and] they have told us that they need more Token Ring performance - at a competitive price."

List prices range from £169 to £220.
