Intel won't cut chip prices for Xmas PCs

Intel shocked the PC market today, saying it would not be making its usual quarterly price cuts on key processors in November. The move could mean higher than expected Xmas systems and a loophole for CPU rivals like Cyrix and AMD. The next price cuts for Penitum chips will likely follow in February 1997.
