Intel motherboards will soon sing different tunes. Intel and Musicmatch on Thursday announced plans to include Musicmatch's Jukebox software and online music download service with future Intel desktop motherboards.

Intel will package Musicmatch Jukebox, Musicmatch Radio, Musicmatch MX and its Musicmatch Downloads service on a resource disc that it includes with its motherboards. Customers will be able to install the software on a new PC that is constructed using one of the Intel boards. Although Intel did not specify exactly which motherboards would come with the music software, the agreement is designed to increase the appeal of Intel motherboards for home PCs, the chipmaker said in a statement. Of late, Intel has increased its emphasis on distribution channels, the networks of distributors that it uses to market its chips and motherboards to smaller PC manufacturers, particularly in emerging markets such as China, and on PC enthusiasts who build their own desktops.
