Game Boy Advance price cut

As of 1 February, UK consumers can expect to pay considerably less for a Game Boy Advance (GBA).
Nintendo today announced a global price cut of 20 percent for its Game Boy Advance console. This means that the new retail price of a Game Boy Advance in Europe is 99 euros, which should mean UK price tags of as little as £59.99.
The Game Boy Advance, released in the UK in June 2001 at a price of approximately £80, is Nintendo's latest handheld console in the Game Boy line, and will be compatible to use with its upcoming GameCube console. The GameCube is Nintendo's entry into the next-gen console battle and will be a rival to Sony's PlayStation2 and Microsoft's Xbox.
This welcome move is expected to coincide with a drop in the price of new games for the GBA, with publishers expected to release new titles (of which there are around 200 scheduled for 2002) at £29.99 instead of the usual £34.99 to £39.99.
