Electronics Arts has reconfirmed its support for the Microsoft Xbox, following rumours that the company had postponed a handful of projects for the console.

An Electronic Arts spokesperson told GameSpot that the company has several games in development for the Xbox, including four games -- Madden NFL 2002, NASCAR Thunder 2002, Cel Damage, and The Simpsons Road Rage -- that will be released alongside the launch of the console.

"Let me assure you that Electronic Arts is in development of a full complement of Xbox titles," the EA spokesperson said. The company currently has a contract to release at least 10 games for Microsoft's console, which includes the four launch games.

The status of the Xbox version of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, which is also in development for the PC platform, was rumoured to be in question, but according to EA, the game's status for the Xbox has not changed at this time. However, the development team is currently focused exclusively on finishing up the PC version of the game, which, according to sources, could delay the release of the Xbox version.
